Last Sunday we had our meeting on Luxford field as we said a big thank you to Mel and Tim for over two decades of service to us as a church and the local community.
We had a short time of sung worship and then some tributes were given to Mel and Tim in acknowledgment of all they have done. Mel then explained how they as a family had known God’s leading in their decision to move to Hull.
We were delighted that so many people were able to join us, including some who travelled from far afield to show their appreciation for the Holden family. We presented Tim, Mel, Gabi and Mayah with a painting of the Ashdown Forest – one their favourite places – for them to have to remember their time here.
We had invited those who knew Mel from the toddler groups that she has led for over ten years and a good number came along. We loved blessing these people with free food, a play area and inflatables for the young ones to bounce on.
We all had a fantastic time in the sunshine!
A big thank you to all who served so generously and a particular thank you to Martin who had the idea for this great event.
