We have just had a fantastic time at our church camp over the recent Bank Holiday weekend. Once again, we were just down the road at the excellent Coldharbour Meadows campsite in Whitesmith, ten minutes from Uckfield. We had a good number who camped and there were also lots of day visitors.
It was superb to have unrushed time together, catching up, getting to know one another and enjoying great food in the glorious sunshine. We also had some craft activities running over the weekend, as well as some fun games including the Pirate game on Saturday night where some really got into the spirit and dressed up for the occasion.
We were delighted to have several younger couples with us for the first time who have recently joined the church. We had the opportunity to hear something of their stories on the Saturday morning, including about how they came to faith, how they came to meet and get married and how they have sensed God’s leading to make us their church family.
Our times of worship together were a great blessing as we sung our praises to God and it was so good to have people share on the Sunday morning what they sensed God was saying to us as met in his presence.
So many people helped and served: cooking, washing up, cleaning toilets and all the other jobs that made the time relaxed for everyone, so a massive thank you to everyone for all you did.
We have booked the site for next year and look forward to another special time.
