Milestone Events

Open Day

In October we had two milestone events in our new building.

The first was a special Sunday meeting where we welcomed some former founding members of the church who have moved away and other leaders from our family of churches. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate together what God has done in making it possible for us to have our own church building after many years of praying. We were encouraged to believe God for his blessing as we move forward as a church looking to share the amazing good news about Jesus Christ.

The second special event was an open morning for the town and district councillors and members of the Uckfield Chamber of Commerce. We loved being able to share the story of the church from its founding over 40 years ago and how we have seen God make our dream a reality in coming to have such an excellent building in a prime location from which we can more effectively serve the town. We enjoyed refreshments together, before a tour of the building and an exhibition where members of the church were able to talk about the different things that we do together as a church together as well as the groups we run to serve the local community.

We really appreciate the mayor’s warm response to the morning on social media:

“Arriving in the pouring rain, we left with blue skies and sunshine which seemed very fitting for the occasion. It looks absolutely fantastic, large airy spaces, wonderful modern decor and more plans to turn areas in smaller spaces to enable support groups to benefit all those in the wider community. It was wonderful to meet so many of the congregation today and hear their hopes and plans for the future of their church and the new church building. I wish you the very best for the future.”
