What a great season of events we had over the Christmas 2024 season and it was amazing to be able to host these for the first time in The King’s Centre!
To kick things off, we held our popular Christmas Family Fun Morning. Reimagined for our new space, the fair games went down a treat, the Christmas crafting was as popular as ever and we were also joined by Jem Photography, who provided her brilliant Christmas photoshoots at the event. There were also some delicious festive nibbles and everyone commented on how amazing everything was and the fact that it was all free!
Our second Christmas event was ‘Meet the Nativity’, a joint collaboration with Uckfield Baptist Church at Uckfield’s Late Night Shopping. A lot of work and planning goes on behind the scenes to set up this incredible walk through nativity in our town. 1,300 people of all ages visited our first century Bethlehem on the night and met the angels, shepherds and inn keeper. Mary and Joseph featured in the stable with their very special baby in a manger, and then our wise people gave out gifts of gold (chocolate coins) to all the children at the end.
On 15th December we had our Christmas Family Service, with a live nativity scene and plenty of costumes available for everyone who wanted to join in dressing up as a character in the nativity, but baby Jesus was of course the star of the show! There were some great readings and contributions from our children and young people through the service, plus of course carols and a Christmas message.
Finally, it was wonderful to invite friends and families to join in our special Carols at Kings Church event on the Saturday, just before Christmas. The centre was full to capacity and there was an amazing atmosphere as we all joined in together with a range of modern carols led by our first class worship band. Thanks to Trys and all involved for making this such a special occasion… we’re all looking forward to the next one!
