Monday night was a significant one in the life of King’s Church Uckfield as a family of believers as we welcomed Lawrence Mudford in to Eldership. He will join Ade, Jon and Steve that had formed the team of elders for around five years.
It was wonderful that so many of the church membership we there to support and endorse this appointment, and we were delighted too that Andy Johnston came across from Southampton with leaders from other churches (particularly Hailsham with whom we have a close relationship) also making the journey to pray for Lawrence and us as a church.
We were bolstered too by an encouraging prophetic word brought by Steve Brading. He quoted Isaiah 43:18-19 which spoke of God doing a new thing, sustaining and providing for us as we move forward together as a people into all that God has planned for us.
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
