Last Thursday was a momentous day for us as a church as we completed on the purchase of Tribune House! As a church, we began giving towards and praying for a building like this over eight years ago. What an amazing journey this has been and what an amazing story of God’s grace to us!
It was wonderful that this building came to our attention at the start of our season of prayer as a church last spring and that the offer was accepted on it as it finished. The availability of this building at this time and the fact that money that came in to the tune of the purchase price and most of the fees was also a great basis for making our move in confidence that this is very much of God.
The building will be called The King’s Centre. (I can imagine it’s going to take a few of us a while to drop Tribune House as a name!) We feel this straightforward name will be the most helpful one for us and the wider community, including future room hire for local businesses when we are able to offer that.
The whole project of utilising this amazing building for God’s glory and the good of the local community needs to continue to be a faith venture as we look to him for further provision for developing the building and to add to us new people who can be part of our church family.
While as a former office building the premises are in good condition and there’s not any major structural renovation needed, we do have a few things that we need to sort out before we can open it up for our Sunday mornings and for community use like the Ark toddler group. We are hoping this can happen after Easter sometime. We will keep you posted.
